Dr. Asit Arora is a Senior Surgical Gastroenterologist and Gastrointestinal & HPB Oncosurgeon in Delhi NCR region. Presently he is working as Director & Head, Division of GI & HPB Oncology at Max Superspeciality Hospital Saket, Gurugram & Max Smart. Formerly he was the Senior Consultant Surgical Gastroenterology and GI Oncosurgery at Dharamshila Narayana Surperspeciality Hospital, New Delhi (2017 to 2019) and Associate Professor of HPB Surgery at Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi (2013 to 2017)

Did his graduation from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Karnataka in 2003 and completed his post-graduation in General Surgery from coveted SMS Medical College, Jaipur in 2007. Developed a keen interest in Gastro Intestinal Surgery and pursued super specialization in this field from the most esteemed G.B.Pant Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, New Delhi. After completing M.Ch in Surgical Gastroenterology in 2012, he joined Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi as Assistant Professor and was later promoted as Associate Professor of HPB Surgery where he served till September 2017. He then established the department of Surgical Gastroenterology and GI Onco surgery at Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, New Delhi where he worked till December 2019.

Not only is he an astute clinician and a surgeon par excellence, his greatest strength lies in treating patients with compassion and has more than 15 years of surgical experience under his belt. He is an avid researcher, has more than 30 national and international publications in peer reviewed journals to his name, has made multiple presentations across the globe in most prestigious of the scientific forums, has authored important chapters in prominent medical text books and is a leading and a sought after speakers in conferences both within and outside India.

His area of expertise includes Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Gastrointestinal Oncosurgery, & HPB cancer surgery. He has special interest in management of Gall bladder cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Neuroendocrine tumors, Minimally Invasive GI Onco-Surgery & VATS Esophageal surgery.

He is working extensively in the field of cancer care and has many collaborations to further the advancement of cancer treatment in the country and has now joined Max Institute of Cancer Care in an attempt to provide best treatment to patients in this field. In his illustrious career, he has received many awards and accolades which are testimony of his skills, devotion, hard work and scientific proficiency.
